Salvador Dali 's Most Interesting Quotes.

Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, 1st Marqués de Dalí de Pubol (May 11, 1904 – January 23, 1989), known as Salvador Dalí,  was prominent Spanish Catalan surrealist painter born in FigueresSpain.
Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters. His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in August 1931. Dalí's expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media.
Dalí attributed his "love of everything that is gilded and excessive, my passion for luxury and my love of oriental clothes" to an "Arab lineage", claiming that his ancestors were descended from the Moors.
Dalí was highly imaginative, and also enjoyed indulging in unusual and grandiose behavior. His eccentric manner and attention-grabbing public actions sometimes drew more attention than his artwork, to the dismay of those who held his work in high esteem, and to the irritation of his critics.

Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it.

There is only one difference between a madman and me. The madman thinks he is sane. I know I am mad.
Each morning when I awake, I experience again a supreme pleasure - that of being Salvador Dali.
At the age of six I wanted to be a cook. At seven I wanted to be Napoleon. And my ambition has been growing steadily ever since.

Painting is an infinitely minute part of my personality.
The first man to compare the cheeks of a young woman to a rose was obviously a poet; the first to repeat it was possibly an idiot.
It is good taste, and good taste alone, that possesses the power to sterilize and is always the first handicap to any creative functioning.
The secret of my influence has always been that it remained secret.

In order to acquire a growing and lasting respect in society, it is a good thing, if you possess great talent, to give, early in your youth, a very hard kick to the right shin of the society that you love. After that, be a snob.
Liking money like I like it, is nothing less than mysticism. Money is a glory.

10 Signs That You Are Antisocial !

An antisocial disorder is more serious than it may sound. This condition goes beyond a person simply not wanting to be around others; it is in fact a brain disorder that has a variety of outward signs. It can be difficult to self-diagnose, although many people tend to do that these days. The hallmarks of an antisocial personality could be on display right in front of us, although many of us might fail to take notice of them, which could lead to being harmed by a person who displays these traits. Maybe you are antisocial yourself and are unaware that your behavior could be harmful to those around you. If you read through these signs, some of them may ring true with you. Here are 10 signs that you may be antisocial:

1. An antisocial person has trouble conforming to social norms, and an individual with this disorder will typically be more likely to engage in illegal acts that may cause them to be arrested. They have less regard for laws or observing the rules of society than most other people. Many antisocial people will even end up in jail for significant periods of their lives. Have you repeatedly been in trouble with the law throughout your life? This behavior generally starts in childhood and is often exhibited in school, where you may have been suspended or even kicked out of school for bad behavior.
2. The antisocial personality often displays a reckless disregard for their own safety or the safety of others. Do you take a lot of risks in your everyday life? It could be something as simple as speeding and driving recklessly, without having concern for other drivers on the road and how they might be harmed by your driving habits. Any situation that you find yourself in where you simply do not care about what happens to others around you can be a sign that you are antisocial.
3. If you often show a lack of remorse when you have hurt or mistreated a person, or have stolen from others, you may be antisocial. You may just have an inability to feel sympathy or empathy for others and have no feelings of guilt when you have hurt someone. You may not even notice that a person’s feelings have been hurt, and you generally do not care about this situation.
4. Are you often deceitful? Do you lie and use a variety of aliases? Do you try to con those around you for personal gain? These are all serious signs of an antisocial disorder that are common and easily recognizable.
5. Are you irresponsible when it comes to family, financial matters and work? Do you have difficulty holding down a job or meeting financial obligations? Antisocial personalities tend to shirk responsibility and have a hard time dealing with any obligations at all. You may feel like these things are not worth your time caring about.
6. Are you impulsive? Do you almost always fail to plan ahead? These are also signs of an antisocial personality.
7. If you are often aggressive and irritable, and tend to get involved in a variety of physical altercations, you are likely an antisocial personality. This can be another reason for ending up in trouble with the law. If you have ever been to jail for assault, this could be the result of antisocial personality disorder.

8. Do you bully others? Are you often cruel to animals or other people? Have you been involved in a series of abusive relationships? If you physically and emotionally mistreat people or animals, this is a good indication that you are antisocial.

9. If you have an inability to learn from your experiences and you will not modify your behavior based on problems in the past or what might happen in the future, you may have an antisocial personality disorder.
10. Do you have no regard for, or even destroy, the property of others? This is a major problem, because people need to observe social rules in order to coexist in today’s society. If you tend to lack respect for others and their property, then you are likely going to encounter a lot of trouble in social situations and relationships throughout your life.
If you have several of these traits, there is a good chance you may be suffering from an antisocial personality disorder. There are many reasons and causes that can lead to this disorder, and some of them may be beyond your individual control. Part of the cause could be environmental (how you were raised, where you grew up, your social and home surroundings), while part of it may be genetic. Your family members may exhibit these same symptoms and issues, and if you look at others in your family, you may see similar behavior patterns. But regardless of the cause, it is completely within your control to start dealing with other people in a fair and reasonable manner and to stay out of trouble with the law. It is up to you to make a conscious decision to seek treatment for this disorder and then to make the choice of receiving the appropriate therapy. The starting point is to find a suitable doctor who can provide the appropriate diagnosis.
Once you have been diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder, it is important to make the appropriate personal and lifestyle changes to improve your future. There is no reason that you should have to go through life with a couple of strikes against you, especially when there are many new and effective treatments for many mental health and personality disorders, including this one. It is up to you to want to receive diagnosis and treatment, and to change your life. Most people who are treated for this disorder can improve their outlook with a combination of psychotherapy and medication. If you simply ignore signs of the disorder and remain untreated, you could endure repeated problems in your life, have trouble keeping a job or even end up in jail. If you want to change your outlook for the future, you must take the necessary steps of your own volition.

Hozier-A song and video worth seeing

An amazing song followed by an equally amazing video.

Hozier is an Irish singer who was raised on the building blocks of popular music: rhythm and blues, soul, jazz and the deep dark stuff stretching from Chicago to the Delta.

Taught himself to play guitar and piano, and went to Trinity College to study music.
Hozier's first release is a 4 track EP. 'Take Me To Church' (the lead track) and 'Angel Of Small Death' reflect the gospel – soul gumbo at the heart of his music; 'Like Real People Do' is an Arcadian acoustic adventure and 'Cherry Wine' a raw emotional discourse, recorded live at 6am on an abandoned hotel rooftop; with accompaniment from the dawn chorus.

Hozier played all the instruments (Fiachra Kinder helped out on drums), sang all the parts and recorded at home. Rob Kirwan (Depeche Mode, PJ Harvey) mixed the tracks in Dublin.

Cosmetic Surgeries - Think twice!

                                       Cosmetic Surgeries
                              Think twice!

A few decades ago,  intervention to a person 's physical appearance was considered to be science fiction. Nowadays, more and more people visit the plastic surgeon to improve their appearance and undergo cosmetic surgeries. As far as I am concerned, a surgery for cosmetic reasons is in most cases risky and expensive.

It is apparent that cosmetic surgeries do not always have the predicted and desired result. In other words, it is possible that the individual could not be satisfied with his or her appearance even after the surgery. In some other cases, a cosmetic surgery can prove to be dangerous and challenging  for the individual 's health. Indeed, a surgery may lead to not only unpleasant body pain but also to serious infections.

Furthermore,  a cosmetic surgery can be extremely expensive. In particular, millions are spent every year by people who want to enhance their look. Not to mention the fact that in most cases people do not stop to the first surgery but tend to continue altering their natural beauty. This means that an individual can spend thousands of dollars in order to finally be satisfied with his or her appearance.

However, there are those who believe that a nice appereance can be a useful tool which can open you many locked doors. For example, they claim that if a person is good-looking can more easily get employed to a job than a person who lacks in beauty. I understand that beauty can  create a positive first impression ;but in order for a man or a women to succeed and achieve high aims, a charming face or body is not enough.

Taking everything into consideration, I vehemently believe that cosmetic surgeries include high risks and I am personally opposed to people intervening  in their nature. America 's famous comedian, Groucho Marx, hilariously once said: "She got her looks from her father. He is a plastic surgeon! "

Violence in the Media

                                               Violence in the Media

Scientific research during the last decade has revealed the harmful affects that violent views can have on an individual 's formation of character. It is clear that most young children as well as and teenagers attend television programmes containing violence more often nowadays. To my mind, young people should not be exposed to violent scenes as this can contribute negatively in the shaping of their behavior.

To begin with, children attending violent scenes on television are more likely to express aggression in the future. This means they may not only fight with and injure other people but also commit serious criminal actions such as murder. Of course, most of them spend the rest of their life behind bars and when they finally regain their freedom tend to continue their illegal activities.

Morover, there is a possibility that children who used to watch violent views on TV in an early age will probably become afraid of society as they grow older. In other words, being conquered by the feeling that our world is full of criminals, they live with the fear of getting hurt or even killed. That is the reason why they usually avoid or hesitate socializing with other individuals and in some case form agoraphobia, a pcycological disorder related to the fear of coming into contact with other people.

On the other hand, there are some supperters of the idea that violence in movies and other television programmes does attract the viewers' attention and also that a movie without action ends up being boring and tiresome. To this I must answer that action is not necessarily related to violence as a film can be appealing without including violent scenes.

All things considered, I vehemently support that it is not appropriate for young chidren to watch television programmes which contain the element of violence. The spiritual Israeli author, David Grossman,  once said: "Today, the data linking violence in the media to violence in society are superior to those linking cancer and tabacco.

The Island of Kasos

Kasos is located in Greece, in the southernmost region of the Eastern Aegean and lies between Crete and Karpathos.

Kasian people are distinguished for their deep religious feeling. Tsis is shown by the fact that, not only do they participate in adorable events , but there are also a lot of churches and monasteries on the island.

BEACHES
Kasos’ coastline is full of any kind of beaches. It’s impossible, for any visitor, not to find in Kasos, a beach which fits his habits and tastes. Some abrupt with rocks, ideal for plunges, other with sand for summer sports, other with pebbles, small or big, organised or isolated.
In Emporeios exists organised beach, surrounded by  taverns and a confectionery, everything that is need for a full summer day.
In the western side of Kasos is found the beach Ammoua, in the region of Antjperatos where four solitary beaches are found, with pebbles in all colours, ideal for those who avoid hubbub.
In the southern part, more known is the beach of Helatros, with the natural harbour, which in the antiquity was used from Minoan seamen. The beach is always protected from the winds, while in the open sea, are formed unique waves, making the point, small paradise for all those who love windsurfing.
Among Kasos’ beaches distinguishes undeniably the one that is find in the very near islet of Armathia. Its’ view, that really nails you, is an incredible combination of Tropic and Cycladic landscape. For a lot of people is considered, and not unfairly, one of the most beautiful beaches of Mediterranean. The beach in Armathia is accessible only from sea, with boat, something that gives to the visit, apart from the emotion of beauty, and a tone of romanticism.
In the island exist much more beaches accessible only from sea, without however regular itineraries to them. But with good mood, it’s always found a way to visit them. You will realise that it’s really worth while.

KASIAN COUISIN
The variety characterizes the Kasian cuisine. It is something far from what a little and barren land can provide. The communication of Kasian people with the whole world (Crete, the other Dodecanese, big cities, Egypt, USA, Minor Asia, Italy, Istanbul, influence via our seamen…), gave to our cuisine recipes that rarely someone finds even in bigger islands.

FESTIVALS
The island is renowned for its numerous festivals, which take place in the church halls and the church courtyards all year round, in honour of the saints. They are considered a big event and gather all the inhabitants of the island as well as its visitors. Local dances, tunes and songs accompanied by the sound of the traditional Lyre and “Laouto” and the supply of free local food, sweets and wine, make the celebrations of Kasos both unique and popular. Now a firm custom of the cultural events of the island is the concert by the world famous tenor Mario Frangoulis in August in the picturesque harbour of Mpoukas. This event attracts an audience from all over Greece. The famous singer comes from Kasos.
